How to align actions with God's Word?
In what ways can we ensure our actions align with God's Word?

The Warning: Hearing Without Doing

Ezekiel 33:32: “Indeed, to them you are like a love song sung with a beautiful voice and skillfully played on an instrument; they hear your words, but they do not put them into practice.”

The danger: enjoying God’s truth yet leaving it unapplied.

Take God’s Word to Heart Daily

• Read it consistently (Psalm 1:2; Joshua 1:8).

• Meditate until it molds desires (Psalm 119:15-16).

• Memorize to resist sin (Psalm 119:11; Matthew 4:4).

Submit Every Decision to Scripture

• Ask what God has already said (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

• Let commands overrule feelings or culture (Acts 5:29).

• Use principles of love and holiness in gray areas (1 Corinthians 10:31-33).

Obey Promptly and Completely

• Delayed obedience is disobedience (James 4:17).

• Partial obedience cost Saul everything (1 Samuel 15:22-23).

• “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

Welcome Accountability

• Invite believers to speak truth (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Confess sin swiftly; secrecy feeds rebellion (Proverbs 28:13).

• Serve in the church—ministry makes truth practical (Galatians 6:2).

Walk by the Spirit

• Depend on His power to obey (Galatians 5:16-25).

• He reminds us of Christ’s words (John 14:26).

• He strengthens the inner person (Ephesians 3:16).

Stay Watchful Until He Comes

• Every deed will be revealed (2 Corinthians 5:10).

• Aim to finish well (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

Persistent, joyful obedience turns hearing into a life that honors the Lord—exactly what Ezekiel’s audience missed and what we can embrace today.
