How to daily conform to Christ's image?
How can you actively pursue being conformed to Christ's image daily?

Our Calling to Christlike Conformity

“For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.” Romans 8:29

Christlikeness is God’s settled purpose for every believer. Each day is a fresh invitation to participate in that purpose.

Recognize God’s Purpose and Your Participation

• God initiates: He “predestined” you for Christ-likeness.

• You respond: offer yourself continually—Romans 12:1-2.

• The Spirit supplies power; you supply willing obedience—2 Corinthians 3:18.

Anchor Yourself in Scripture

• Daily intake—read, listen, study, and meditate (Psalm 1:2; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

• Memorize key passages that expose sin and reveal Christ’s character.

• Let Scripture renew your thinking so the world’s patterns lose their grip (Romans 12:2).

Remain in Intimate Communion with Christ

“Remain in Me, and I will remain in you… apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

Pray throughout the day—adoration, confession, thanksgiving, petition. Ongoing conversation keeps your heart aligned with His.

Walk in the Spirit Each Moment

• Consciously depend on the Spirit’s control (Galatians 5:16).

• Expect His fruit to grow—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

• When you stumble, confess quickly and walk on (1 John 1:9).

Choose Obedience in Daily Decisions

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only…” James 1:22

• Obedience in small things shapes Christlike reflexes.

• Serve others with humility (Philippians 2:3-5).

• Guard what enters your mind, what leaves your mouth, where your feet go.

Engage in Christ-Centered Community

• Spur one another on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Receive correction; give encouragement.

• Practice forgiving and being forgiven—Colossians 3:12-14.

Practice Putting Off and Putting On

“…put off your former way of life… be renewed in the spirit of your minds… put on the new self…” Ephesians 4:22-24

• Identify sinful attitudes; deliberately replace them with righteous ones.

• Example: put off bitterness; put on forgiveness.

• Repeat the exchange whenever old habits resurface.

Embrace Trials as Transformative

“And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him…” Romans 8:28

• Trials expose rough edges and drive you to Christ.

• Follow His example of patient suffering (1 Peter 2:21).

• Trust that every hardship is sculpting Christ’s likeness in you.

Keep Your Eyes on the Coming Glory

“We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3

• Anticipate the day you’ll see Him face-to-face.

• Let that hope motivate present purity, perseverance, and joy.
