How to find glory, honor, immortality?
In what ways can we seek "glory, honor, and immortality" in today's world?

The Promise in Romans 2:7

“to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.”

Defining the Pursuit

• Glory: the radiance of God’s approval reflected in a believer’s life (John 17:22)

• Honor: the dignity God bestows on the righteous (1 Samuel 2:30)

• Immortality: the imperishable life granted at resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:53)

Seeking Glory through Everyday Obedience

• Put God’s reputation first—“whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

• Speak the gospel unashamedly (Romans 1:16)

• Choose integrity in private choices; unseen faithfulness brings heavenly commendation (Matthew 6:4)

• Celebrate God’s works, not your own (Psalm 115:1)

Pursuing Honor before God and People

• Practice humility—“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” (James 4:10)

• Show respect to every person as an image-bearer (1 Peter 2:17)

• Honor authorities unless they contradict God’s Word (Romans 13:1–2; Acts 5:29)

• Keep promises; a word kept builds a name God can honor (Proverbs 22:1)

Living for Immortality Right Now

• Fix hope on the resurrection (Colossians 3:1–4)

• Invest in eternal treasures—time in prayer, Scripture, discipleship, generosity (Matthew 6:20)

• Endure hardship with eyes on the crown of life (James 1:12)

• Encourage fellow believers to persevere; corporate faithfulness strengthens eternal perspective (Hebrews 10:24–25)

Guardrails against Self-Glorification

• Test motives—are you seeking applause or God’s “Well done”? (Galatians 1:10)

• Remember the cross cancels boasting (Ephesians 2:8–9)

• Redirect praise back to Christ immediately (Revelation 4:10–11)

Encouragement from Other Scriptures

2 Corinthians 4:17—current afflictions produce “an eternal weight of glory”

Philippians 3:20–21—our citizenship is in heaven; Christ “will transform our lowly bodies”

1 Peter 1:7—tested faith “may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ”

A Daily Resolution

Today—and every day—persevere in good works, setting your heart on God’s glory, walking in honor, and keeping your eyes on the imperishable life that is already yours in Christ.
