How to invite Jesus' healing home?
In what ways can we invite Jesus' healing power into our homes today?

Jesus Comes Home—Matthew 8:14

“When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, He saw Peter’s mother-in-law sick in bed with a fever.”

The Immediate Outcome

“But He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose and began to serve Him.” (Matthew 8:15)

What This Tells Us About Jesus’ Desire

• He is willing to enter ordinary homes.

• He notices suffering without being asked.

• His touch brings instant wholeness.

• Healing releases people to serve.

Welcoming His Healing Power into Our Homes Today

• Invite His Presence Intentionally

Revelation 3:20: He still knocks; open the door with worship, Scripture reading, and conscious acknowledgment that your home belongs to Him.

John 14:23: Obedience to His word makes your household a dwelling place for Father and Son.

• Bring Every Affliction to Him Boldly

Psalm 103:2-3: “He forgives all your iniquities, He heals all your diseases.”

– Lay hands on the sick family member, speaking His promises aloud. (Mark 16:17-18)

• Create a Faith-Filled Atmosphere

Matthew 18:20: Gather even two or three to agree for healing.

– Fill rooms with praise music and testimonies; Psalm 22:3 reminds us He is enthroned on praise.

• Stand on His Finished Work

Isaiah 53:4-5 and 1 Peter 2:24: His stripes purchased bodily healing; declare it over those who are ill.

– Celebrate Communion at home (1 Corinthians 11:23-26), remembering His body broken for health.

• Use God-Ordained Means

James 5:14-16: Call elders, anoint with oil, confess sins; the prayer of faith saves the sick.

– Seek medical care without abandoning prayer; God often works through physicians (Colossians 4:14).

• Remove Hindrances

Mark 11:25: Forgive quickly; unforgiveness blocks answered prayer.

– Cleanse the home of occult items or practices (Acts 19:19-20); honor His lordship in every room.

• Serve Like Peter’s Mother-in-Law

– After healing, use renewed strength to minister to others—hospitality, generosity, sharing the gospel (1 Peter 4:9-10).

Living Out the Story Daily

• Morning: Read a gospel passage and invite Jesus to “walk the house.”

• Mealtime: Give thanks, speak health, remember His covenant.

• Bedtime: Lay hands on children, bless them with Numbers 6:24-26.

The Promise Continues

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

What He did in Peter’s living room, He longs to do in yours—enter, notice, touch, heal, and release every member of the household for joyful service.
