How to ready for Jesus daily?
How can we prepare the way for Jesus in our daily lives?

The Original Call: Matthew 11:10

“Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.”

John the Baptist cleared the road for Jesus by confronting sin, calling people to repentance, and pointing everyone to the Lamb of God (John 1:29). The same assignment continues for us—one heart, one home, one workplace at a time.

Clearing the Roadblocks: Personal Repentance

Isaiah 40:3 shows preparation begins with “make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.”

• Sin clutters the highway; repentance bulldozes it.

• Regularly invite the Spirit to search you (Psalm 139:23-24) and confess quickly (1 John 1:9).

• Replace what’s torn down with truth (Ephesians 4:22-24).

Straight Paths: Obedient Living

• John called for “fruit in keeping with repentance” (Luke 3:8).

• Jesus links love with obedience (John 14:15).

• Daily choose Scripture-shaped decisions—big and small:

– Integrity at work (Colossians 3:23-24)

– Honoring marriage vows (Hebrews 13:4)

– Speaking truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)

• Obedience makes the gospel visible (James 1:22).

Pointing to the Lamb: Bold Witness

• Like John, direct all spotlight to Jesus (John 3:30).

• Pray for open doors and clarity (Colossians 4:3-4).

• Share your story of grace (Mark 5:19).

• Be ready to explain the hope within you with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).

Making Room: Cultivating Intimacy with Christ

• Jesus stands at the door and knocks (Revelation 3:20).

• Reserve unhurried time for the Word (Psalm 119:105) and prayer (Philippians 4:6-7).

• Fast from distractions that crowd the King’s entrance (Hebrews 12:1).

• Worship turns the heart into a prepared sanctuary (Psalm 22:3).

Leveling the Ground: Loving Service

• “Prepare good works” (Ephesians 2:10) by serving needs around you.

• Practical compassion softens hard soil for gospel seed (Titus 3:14).

• Let joy mark every act (Philippians 2:14-15).

Staying the Course: Daily Anticipation

• Keep eyes lifted for His return (Titus 2:13).

• Hope fuels holiness (1 John 3:2-3).

• Encourage one another as the Day approaches (Hebrews 10:24-25).
