How to reconnect with God daily?
How can we "return to your God" in our daily lives today?

Hosea’s Call to Return

“But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and always put your hope in your God.” (Hosea 12:6)

Why Hosea’s Words Still Matter

• Israel was drifting into idolatry and self-reliance.

• God, through Hosea, called them back to covenant faithfulness.

• The Lord’s character has not changed (Malachi 3:6); therefore, the same call reaches us today.

What “Return” Involves

1. Turning around—repentance, not mere regret (Acts 3:19).

2. Facing toward God—renewed trust and obedience (James 4:8).

3. Walking forward—ongoing fellowship, not a one-time event (Colossians 2:6).

Daily Steps to Return to God

• Repent Promptly

– Ask the Spirit to expose sin (Psalm 139:23-24).

– Confess immediately (1 John 1:9).

• Hold Fast to Loyal Love (chesed)

– Practice kindness in the home: forgiving, encouraging, serving (Ephesians 4:32).

– Show steadfast love to the needy: share resources, time, and friendship (1 John 3:17-18).

• Pursue Justice

– Speak truth even when unpopular (Proverbs 31:8-9).

– Conduct business and work with integrity (Leviticus 19:35-36).

– Defend the vulnerable—unborn, elderly, oppressed (James 1:27).

• Wait Continually on Your God

– Begin each day in the Word before screens or news (Psalm 5:3).

– Replace anxiety with Scripture-shaped hope (Philippians 4:6-7).

– Trust His timing; refuse shortcuts that compromise righteousness (Isaiah 40:31).

Habits That Sustain a Returning Heart

• Scripture Saturation: read, meditate, memorize (Joshua 1:8).

• Regular Worship: gather with believers, sing, listen, give (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Accountability: invite a mature believer to ask hard questions (Proverbs 27:17).

• Generous Giving: finances, talents, hospitality (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

Encouragement for the Journey

• God delights in restoring His people (Zephaniah 3:17).

• Every step back toward Him meets a Father running toward us (Luke 15:20).

Return today, and keep returning tomorrow; His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
