How to summon Your power daily?
How can we "summon Your power" in our daily spiritual battles today?

Setting the Verse in Our Hearts

“Summon Your power, O God; show Your strength, O God, which You have exerted on our behalf.” (Psalm 68:28)

God invites us to call on His already-active power. The psalmist is literally asking the Almighty to unleash the strength He has proven before. That same power stands ready for every believer’s daily battles.

Recognizing the Source of Power

• Power belongs exclusively to God (Psalm 62:11).

• We possess none in ourselves (John 15:5).

• Christ’s victory at the cross and empty tomb secured every resource we need (Colossians 2:13-15).

Positioning Ourselves to Receive

1. Dependence, not self-reliance

• “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)

• Admit weakness; His strength is perfected there (2 Corinthians 12:9).

2. Continual surrender

• “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

• Summoning power begins with yielding control.

3. Abiding fellowship

• Stay vitally connected through Scripture, prayer, and obedience (John 15:7-10).

• Distance from Christ drains strength; closeness channels it.

Practical Ways to “Summon” His Power Daily

• Intentional Scripture intake

– Meditate on promises of triumph (Romans 8:37; 1 John 4:4).

– Wield the Word like the “sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:17).

• Instant, humble prayer

– Turn every anxious thought into a request for strength (Philippians 4:6-7).

– Approach “the throne of grace with confidence” for timely help (Hebrews 4:16).

• Spoken agreement with God’s truth

– Verbally affirm who He is and what He has said (Psalm 91:2).

– Praise disarms the enemy and magnifies the Lord’s might (2 Chronicles 20:22).

• Spirit-led obedience

– Power flows along the path of God’s commands (Acts 5:32).

– Even small steps of faith invite great strength (Matthew 17:20).

• Fellowship and accountability

– Share burdens; united prayer multiplies power (Matthew 18:19-20).

– Encourage one another to stand firm (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Living in the Assurance of His Strength

Because God has “exerted” His power on our behalf before, we can expect it again. Our part is to call, trust, and obey. Then we march into every spiritual conflict confident that “the weapons of our warfare are powerful through God” (2 Corinthians 10:4), and that through Him “we can do all things” (Philippians 4:13).
