Ways to honor Jesus as King daily?
How can we proclaim Jesus as King in our daily lives?

Setting the Scene

Luke 19:38: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

The crowd on the road into Jerusalem joyfully declared Jesus to be King. Their shouted praise gives us a pattern for proclaiming Him as King every ordinary day.

Internalizing His Kingship

- Acknowledge the reality: Jesus is not merely symbolic royalty; He is the literal King over every realm (Colossians 1:16-17).

- Surrender first in the heart. Daily confession—“You reign over my thoughts, motives, and plans”—aligns inner life with heavenly reality (Romans 12:1-2).

- Keep His words central. Treasuring Scripture is treasuring the King’s decrees (Psalm 119:11).

Speaking the King’s Name

- Let praise be audible. The crowd “began to praise God joyfully with loud voices” (Luke 19:37). Verbal gratitude at home, work, or in public cues others to His rule.

- Share the gospel plainly. Announcing His kingdom is not optional: “We cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).

- Confess Christ when asked. “Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope within you” (1 Peter 3:15).

Displaying the King’s Character

- Reflect kingdom values: mercy, purity, justice, humility (Micah 6:8; Matthew 5:7-9).

- Practice servant-leadership. Jesus entered on a colt, not a warhorse (Luke 19:30). Lead by serving—washing feet instead of seeking applause (John 13:14-15).

- Demonstrate sacrificial love. “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

Submitting Daily Decisions

- Ask, “What advances Your kingdom?” before choices on money, time, or relationships (Matthew 6:33).

- Obey promptly. The disciples fetched the colt exactly as instructed (Luke 19:32-34). Quick obedience confirms His authority.

- Reject rival loyalties. “No one can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24).

Shining the King’s Glory in Deeds

- Good works become royal billboards. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

- Excellence at work honors the King (Colossians 3:23-24).

- Generosity points to His abundance (2 Corinthians 9:12-13).

Enduring Opposition Joyfully

- The Pharisees told Jesus to silence the crowd (Luke 19:39). Expect pushback when you exalt Him.

- Stand firm; even stones would cry out if disciples stayed quiet (Luke 19:40). Privilege outweighs pressure (Philippians 1:29).

Anticipating the King’s Return

- Live now as loyal subjects awaiting the open coronation (Revelation 19:16).

- Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). Our daily proclamation rehearses that coming universal chorus.

Putting It All Together

1. Believe and bow—daily personal surrender.

2. Speak His praise—verbal, public, unashamed.

3. Embody His ways—service, love, holiness.

4. Obey His commands—swiftly and gladly.

5. Shine good works—directing credit to Him.

6. Stand when challenged—joyful, unflinching.

7. Keep eyes on the horizon—King Jesus is coming.

From morning commute to bedtime conversation, every arena becomes a parade route where hearts, voices, and actions wave palm branches and proclaim, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!”
