Opening Passage

Leviticus 25:19

“Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat your fill and dwell in safety in the land.”

Threefold Promise in the Verse

• Fruitfulness – “the land will yield its fruit.”

• Satisfaction – “you can eat your fill.”

• Security – “dwell in safety.”

From Genesis to Revelation, God keeps repeating those same three notes. Here are some of the clearest echoes.

Provision Repeated in the Torah

Genesis 22:14 — “And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide… ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.’”

Exodus 16:4 — “Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Behold, I will rain down bread from heaven for you…’” (manna in the wilderness).

Deuteronomy 11:13-15 — “I will send rain on your land in its season…you will eat and be satisfied.”

Deuteronomy 28:11-12 — promised abundance when Israel obeys: “The LORD will make you prosper abundantly…The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty.”

Provision Sung in the Psalms

Psalm 23:1-2 — “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.”

Psalm 34:9-10 — “Those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”

Psalm 37:25 — “I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.”

Psalm 81:10 — “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.”

Psalm 145:15-16 — “The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in season…You satisfy the desire of every living thing.”

Provision Announced by the Prophets

Isaiah 41:17-18 — “I, the LORD, will answer them… I will open rivers on the barren heights.”

Jeremiah 31:12 — “They will come and shout for joy…their souls will be like a well-watered garden.”

Malachi 3:10 — “See if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out for you blessing without measure.”

Provision Exemplified in Israel’s History

• Manna and quail (Exodus 16).

• Water from the rock (Exodus 17:6; Numbers 20:11).

• Clothes and sandals that never wore out during forty years (Deuteronomy 29:5).

These lived-out stories prove the Leviticus promise was no empty phrase.

Provision Taught by Jesus

Matthew 6:31-33 — “Your heavenly Father knows that you need them…seek first the kingdom…all these things will be added unto you.”

Luke 12:24 — “Consider the ravens…God feeds them.”

John 6:35 — “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to Me will never hunger.”

Provision Celebrated by the Apostles

2 Corinthians 9:8 — “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work.”

Philippians 4:19 — “My God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

1 Timothy 6:17 — God “richly provides us with everything to enjoy.”

Hebrews 13:5 — “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”

Bringing It Home

Leviticus 25:19 is not a standalone promise; it harmonizes with a chorus that runs through the entire Bible. Whether land, rain, daily bread, or eternal life in Christ, God’s heart to provide remains constant. As we trust and obey Him today, we stand on the same solid ground of fruitfulness, satisfaction, and security that He pledged to His people long ago.

How can we apply the principle of divine provision in our daily lives?
