Why declare God's glory globally?
Why is it important to declare God's glory "among the nations"?

The Scriptural Foundation

“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all peoples.” (Psalm 96:3)

A Command Flowing from God’s Character

• He alone is glorious—there is no rival (Isaiah 42:8).

• His works are marvelous and worthy of worldwide notice (Psalm 145:4–6).

• His steadfast love extends to every corner of the earth (Psalm 57:10).

Why Declaring His Glory Matters

• Obedience: God explicitly instructs it (1 Chronicles 16:24; Isaiah 12:4).

• Salvation: People cannot believe without hearing (Romans 10:14–15).

• Worship: God seeks worshipers from every tribe and tongue (John 4:23; Revelation 7:9).

• Joy: Proclaiming magnifies our own delight in the Lord (Psalm 67:3–4).

• Justice: Proclamation confronts idols and false hopes (Jeremiah 10:10–11; Acts 17:29–31).

Biblical Snapshots of Global Proclamation

• Abraham: Blessed to be a blessing to “all families of the earth” (Genesis 12:3).

• Jonah: Reluctant prophet, yet Nineveh repented when God’s glory was announced (Jonah 3:5–10).

• The Psalmists: Constantly invite “all the earth” to praise (Psalm 66:1–2).

• Jesus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19–20).

• Paul: Spent his life “to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles” (Romans 1:5).

What Happens When We Keep Silent

• Unreached peoples remain without hope (Ephesians 2:12).

• God’s rightful praise is muted on earth (Psalm 22:27–28).

• We disobey and lose the blessing tied to obedience (James 1:25).

Practical Ways to Declare His Glory Today

• Share His deeds in everyday conversation—simple testimony carries power.

• Support cross-cultural workers through prayer, finances, and encouragement.

• Engage refugees, international students, and immigrants in your community.

• Leverage digital platforms to spread Scripture and stories of God’s works.

• Teach children a heart for the nations through Bible reading and global stories.

The Certain Future Result

A countless multitude “from every nation and tribe and people and tongue” will stand before the throne crying out, “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9–10). Declaring His glory now aligns us with that unstoppable, eternal chorus.
