Why praise God loudly?
Why is it important to praise God "with a very loud voice"?

The Example: 2 Chronicles 20:19

“Then the Levites from the sons of the Kohathites and the sons of the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.”

Why Loud Praise?

• Obedience to God’s clear invitation

– “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.” Psalm 100:1

• Public declaration of His greatness

Luke 19:37: “the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen.”

• Engages heart, mind, and body, uniting emotion with truth

• Strengthens faith in spiritual battles

– Context of 2 Chronicles 20: before a daunting enemy, praise became Israel’s battle cry.

• Echoes heaven’s worship

Revelation 19:6: “I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude… crying out: ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.’”

Scriptural Echoes of Thunderous Praise

Psalm 98:4: “Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth—let your cry ring out, and sing praises!”

Nehemiah 12:43: “The joy of Jerusalem was heard from afar.”

Acts 2:6: the crowd gathered when “this sound rang out.”

Psalm 150:6: “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Hallelujah!”

What Loud Praise Looks Like Today

• Sing congregational hymns and worship songs without holding back

• Read or declare Scripture aloud in personal devotion

• Testify publicly to answered prayer and God’s faithfulness

• Use instruments, clapping, and collective shouting at appropriate moments in corporate worship

Blessings That Follow Raised Voices

• Joy deepens and spreads—praise is contagious

• Fear, doubt, and heaviness lose their grip

• Unity grows as believers lift one sound together (Romans 15:6)

• God’s presence is sensed more keenly (Psalm 22:3)

• The watching world hears a clear witness of the living God

Final Encouragement

Let every opportunity—at church, at home, even in the midst of trials—be a chance to echo the Levites and lift up a very loud voice, celebrating the Lord who is worthy of nothing less.
