His family formed one branch of the Merarites, who were entrusted with the care and transport of the tabernacle’s structural materials, including its frames, bars, pillars, and bases. Their service supported the worship of Israel by preserving the dwelling place appointed for God’s presence among His people. 1Ch 6:19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans… Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These sons continued Mushi’s household within the Merarite line. The name Mahli also occurs earlier in Merari’s genealogy, showing the recurring family names preserved in Israel’s records. God’s work was not left to human preference or disorder but was carried out according to His commands. The careful preservation of these households also displayed the Lord’s faithfulness in maintaining those set apart to serve Him.
