But you will be called the priests of the LORD;

Israel’s restored people will bear a sacred identity among the nations, serving the Lord in a manner that reflects His holiness and reveals His truth. Under the Mosaic covenant, priestly service belonged to Aaron’s descendants within Levi, yet the nation had already been called to be “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6). Isaiah looks forward to the day when Israel’s calling before the world will be openly recognized. The promise also anticipates the spiritual privilege shared by believers in Christ, who are called “a royal priesthood” and are to proclaim God’s excellencies (1 Peter 2:9).

they will speak of you as ministers of our God;

The nations will acknowledge that Israel belongs to the Lord and serves Him. Those once despised, scattered, and oppressed will be known for worship, obedience, and ministry before God. The restored people will not exist merely for national prosperity but for the honor of the God who redeemed them. Their service will display the truth that the Lord’s covenant purposes for Israel have not failed.

you will feed on the wealth of nations,

God will reverse the losses inflicted by foreign powers and provide abundantly for His people. Nations that once plundered Israel will bring their resources into the sphere of Israel’s blessing and worship. The provision reflects the Lord’s faithfulness to His covenant promises and points toward the righteous order of the Messiah’s kingdom, when the nations will honor the Lord and His chosen people.

and you will boast in their riches.

Israel’s joy will rest not in self-exaltation but in the Lord’s public vindication and provision. The riches of the nations will become evidence of God’s faithfulness, as earthly glory is directed toward His purposes. Isaiah’s vision reaches beyond return from exile to the coming kingdom, when the nations bring their honor before the Lord and His glory fills all things.
