In Matthew 16:24-25 , Jesus states, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." In Luke 14:26-27 , Jesus further underscores the seriousness of this commitment: "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple." Furthermore, a committed life serves as a witness to others. In Matthew 5:16 , Jesus instructs, "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." A life committed to Christ reflects His love and truth, drawing others to the Gospel message.
