I lift Up My Eyes to You

שִׁ֗יר (A Song) הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת (of the Ascents).

1אֵ֭לֶיךָ (Unto You) נָשָׂ֣אתִי (I lift up) אֶת־ (-) עֵינַ֑י (my eyes),

הַ֝יֹּשְׁבִ֗י (to the One sitting enthroned) בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ (in the heavens).

2  הִנֵּ֨ה (Behold), כְעֵינֵ֪י (as the eyes) עֲבָדִ֡ים (of servants)

אֶל־ (are to) יַ֤ד (the hand) אֲ‍ֽדוֹנֵיהֶ֗ם (of their masters),

כְּעֵינֵ֣י (as the eyes) שִׁפְחָה֮ (of a maidservant)

אֶל־ (are to) יַ֪ד (the hand) גְּבִ֫רְתָּ֥הּ (of her mistress),

כֵּ֣ן (so) עֵ֭ינֵינוּ (are our eyes) אֶל־ (to) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ (our God),

עַ֝֗ד (until) שֶׁיְּחָנֵּֽנוּ׃ (He shows us mercy).

3  חָנֵּ֣נוּ (Have mercy on us), יְהוָ֣ה (O YHWH), חָנֵּ֑נוּ (Have mercy on us),

כִּֽי־ (for) רַ֝֗ב (exceedingly) שָׂבַ֥עְנוּ (we are filled) בֽוּז׃ (with contempt).

4  רַבַּת֮ (Exceedingly) שָֽׂבְעָה־ (has been full) לָּ֪הּ (it) נַ֫פְשֵׁ֥נוּ (our soul) הַלַּ֥עַג (with the scorn) הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים (of those at ease),

הַ֝בּ֗וּז (with the contempt) לִגְאֵ֥יוֹנִֽים׃ (of the prideful ones).
