Admiration by the Bridegroom 1How beautiful are your feet in the sandals, O daughter of a noble! The curves of your thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of an artisan. 2Your navel is a bowl of roundness— it is not lacking in mixed wine. Your belly is a mound of wheat, fenced around with the lilies. 3Your two breasts are like two fawns, 4Your neck is like a tower of ivory. Your eyes are the pools in Heshbon by the gate of Bath-Rabbim. Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon, looking to the face of Damascus. 5Your head is upon you like Carmel, and the hair of your head is like purple— a king is bound in the tresses! 6How beautiful and how pleasant, 7This stature of yours is like a palm tree, and your breasts are like clusters of fruit. 8I said, “I will go up on the palm tree, I will grab hold of its boughs.” And may your breasts be now like the clusters of the vine, and the fragrance of your breath like the apples, 9and your mouth† like wine of the best. The Bride It is flowing to my beloved smoothly, gliding over lips and teeth.† 10I am unto my beloved, 11Come, my beloved, let us go forth to the field; let us spend the night among the wildflowers.† 12Let us go out early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine has sprouted, if the blossoms have opened and the pomegranates have budded; there I will give my love to you. 13The mandrakes give off a scent, and at our door is every delicacy, new and old, my beloved, which I have stored up for you.
