Good News Translation
The people in front scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, "Son of David! Have mercy on me!"

New Revised Standard Version
Those who were in front sternly ordered him to be quiet; but he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Contemporary English Version
The people who were going along with Jesus told the man to be quiet. But he shouted even louder, "Son of David, have pity on me!"
