Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.1Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.
You are to take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate; a pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate;2You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female,
and seven pairs of every kind of bird of the air, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of all the earth.3and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky--in order to keep offspring alive throughout the earth.
For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”4Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing I have made I will wipe off the face of the earth."
And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.5And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.
Now Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth.6Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came and water covered the earth.
And Noah and his wife, with his sons and their wives, entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.7So Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives entered the ark because of the floodwaters.
The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground8From the clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and every creature that crawls on the ground,
came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.9two of each, male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, just as God had commanded him.
And after seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth.10Seven days later the floodwaters came on the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the sources of the vast watery depths burst open, the floodgates of the sky were opened,
And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.12and the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
On that very day Noah entered the ark, along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and his wife, and the three wives of his sons—13On that same day Noah along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah's wife, and his three sons' wives entered the ark with him.
they and every kind of wild animal, livestock, crawling creature, bird, and winged creature.14They entered it with all the wildlife according to their kinds, all livestock according to their kinds, all the creatures that crawl on the earth according to their kinds, every flying creature--all the birds and every winged creature--according to their kinds.
They came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature with the breath of life.15Two of every creature that has the breath of life in it came to Noah and entered the ark.
And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.16Those that entered, male and female of every creature, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and the waters rose and lifted the ark high above the earth.17The flood continued for forty days on the earth; the water increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth.
So the waters continued to surge and rise greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.18The water surged and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.
Finally, the waters completely inundated the earth, so that all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.19Then the water surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered.
The waters rose and covered the mountaintops to a depth of fifteen cubits.20The mountains were covered as the water surged above them more than twenty feet.
And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished—birds, livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind.21Every creature perished--those that crawl on the earth, birds, livestock, wildlife, and those that swarm on the earth, as well as all mankind.
Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.22Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils--everything on dry land died.
And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed—man and livestock, crawling creatures and birds of the air; they were blotted out from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained.23He wiped out every living thing that was on the face of the earth, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.
And the waters prevailed upon the earth for 150 days.24And the water surged on the earth 150 days.
