Continue in brotherly love.1Let brotherly love continue.
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.2Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.
Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.3Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.
Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.4Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”5Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”6Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.7Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them.9Don't be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by foods, since those involved in them have not benefited.
We have an altar from which those who serve at the tabernacle have no right to eat.10We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle do not have a right to eat.
Although the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp.11For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the most holy place by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp.
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to sanctify the people by His own blood.12Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that He might sanctify the people by His own blood.
Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore.13Let us then go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace.
For here we do not have a permanent city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.14For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.15Therefore, through Him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess His name.
And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.16Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. To this end, allow them to lead with joy and not with grief, for that would be of no advantage to you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Pray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.18Pray for us; for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything.
And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you soon.19And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon.
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,20Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus--the great Shepherd of the sheep--with the blood of the everlasting covenant,
equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.21equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to Him forever and ever. Amen.
I urge you, brothers, to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have only written to you briefly.22Brothers, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.23Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon enough, he will be with me when I see you.
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings.24Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you.
Grace be with all of you.25Grace be with all of you.
