| 5The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked; His soul hates the lover of violence. | 5The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence, he hates. |
| 6On the wicked He will rain down fiery coals and sulfur; a scorching wind will be their portion. | 6He rains on the wicked burning coals and sulfur; a scorching wind is their destiny. |
| 7For the LORD is righteous; He loves justice. The upright will see His face. | 7Indeed, the LORD is righteous; he loves righteousness; the upright will see him face-to-face. |
