Berean Study Bible | NET Bible |
Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |
Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. | 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else. | 4Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else. |
For each one should carry his own load. | 5For each one will carry his own load. |
Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. | 6Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. |
Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. | 7Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, |
The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. | 8because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. |
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | 9So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith. | 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. |
See what large letters I am using to write to you with my own hand! | 11See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand! |
Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
For the circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God. | 16And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. |
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. |
