Psalm 142
BSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.1I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy.
2I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.2I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.
3Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.3When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.
4Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.4I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.
5I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”5Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.
6Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.6Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.
7Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.7Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me.”
