| 1Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, | 1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. |
| 2because the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. | 2For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death. |
| 3What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin's domain, and as a sin offering, | 3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, |
| 4in order that the law's requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. | 4so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. |
| 5For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit. | 5Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. |

| 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. | 25But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently. |
| 26In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. | 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
