| 1He set out from there and went to the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Then crowds converged on Him again and, as He usually did, He began teaching them once more. | 1Then Jesus left that place and went into the territory of Judea on the other side of the Jordan. Crowds gathered around him as usual, and he began to teach them again as was his custom. |
| 2Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" | 2Some Pharisees came to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" |
| 3He replied to them, "What did Moses command you?" | 3"What did Moses command you?" he responded. |

| 14When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me. | 21Then, looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, "You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. | 32They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. They were astonished, but those who followed Him were afraid.
