| 2I will boast in the LORD; the humble will hear and be glad. | 2I will boast in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! |

| 12Who is the man who delights in life, loving a long life to enjoy what is good? | 12Do you want to really live? Would you love to live a long, happy life? |
| 13Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. | 13Then make sure you don't speak evil words or use deceptive speech! |
| 14Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it. | 14Turn away from evil and do what is right! Strive for peace and promote it! |
| 15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry for help. | 15The LORD pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help. |
