| 1I lift up my eyes toward the mountains— from where will my help come? | 1A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. |
| 2My help is from the LORD, maker of heaven and earth. | 2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. |
| 3He will never let your foot slip, nor will your guardian become drowsy. | 3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
| 4Look! The one who is guarding Israel never sleeps and does not take naps. | 4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. |
