Psalm 41
KJV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNET Bible
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.1For the music director; a psalm of David. How blessed is the one who treats the poor properly! When trouble comes, the LORD delivers him.
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.2May the LORD protect him and save his life! May he be blessed in the land! Do not turn him over to his enemies!
The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.3The LORD supports him on his sickbed; you completely heal him from his illness.
I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.4As for me, I said: "O LORD, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you!
Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?5My enemies ask this cruel question about me, 'When will he finally die and be forgotten?'
And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.6When someone comes to visit, he pretends to be friendly; he thinks of ways to defame me, and when he leaves he slanders me.
All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.7All who hate me whisper insults about me to one another; they plan ways to harm me.
An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.8They say, 'An awful disease overwhelms him, and now that he is bed-ridden he will never recover.'
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.9Even my close friend whom I trusted, he who shared meals with me, has turned against me.
But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.10As for you, O LORD, have mercy on me and raise me up, so I can pay them back!"
By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.11By this I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.
And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.12As for me, you uphold me because of my integrity; you allow me permanent access to your presence.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.13The LORD God of Israel deserves praise in the future and forevermore! We agree! We agree!
