KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;1When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—
Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.2the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.
The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.3The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.
The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!
What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?5What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?
Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?6Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?
Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.8He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.
