Psalm 115
King James BibleNew Living Translation
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.1Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?2Why let the nations say, “Where is their God?”
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.3Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.4Their idols are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands.
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:5They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see.
They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:6They have ears but cannot hear, and noses but cannot smell.
They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.7They have hands but cannot feel, and feet but cannot walk, and throats but cannot make a sound.
They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.8And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them.
O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.9O Israel, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield.
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.10O priests, descendants of Aaron, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield.
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.11All you who fear the LORD, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield.
The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.12The LORD remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron.
He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.13He will bless those who fear the LORD, both great and lowly.
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.14May the LORD richly bless both you and your children.
Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.15May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.16The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to all humanity.
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.17The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD, for they have gone into the silence of the grave.
But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.18But we can praise the LORD both now and forever! Praise the LORD!
