King James Bible | New Living Translation |
David's Psalm of praise. I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. | 1I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. |
Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. | 2I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever. |
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. | 3Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. |
One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. | 4Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. |
I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. | 5I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. |
And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. | 6Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. |
They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. | 7Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness. |
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. | 8The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. |
The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. | 9The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. |
All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. | 10All of your works will thank you, LORD, and your faithful followers will praise you. |
They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; | 11They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your power. |
To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. | 12They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. |
Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. | 13For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The LORD always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. |
The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. | 14The LORD helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. |
The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. | 15The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it. |
Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. | 16When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. |
The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. | 17The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. |
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. | 18The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. |
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. | 19He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. |
The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. | 20The LORD protects all those who love him, but he destroys the wicked. |
My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. | 21I will praise the LORD, and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever and ever. |
