For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me.1For the choirmaster. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to God; I cried aloud to God to hear me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted.2In the day of trouble I sought the Lord; through the night my outstretched hands did not grow weary; my soul refused to be comforted.
When I remember God, then I am disturbed; When I sigh, then my spirit grows faint. Selah.3I remembered You, O God, and I groaned; I mused and my spirit grew faint. Selah
You have held my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.4You have kept my eyes from closing; I am too troubled to speak.
I have considered the days of old, The years of long ago.5I considered the days of old, the years long in the past.
I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:6At night I remembered my song; in my heart I mused, and my spirit pondered:
Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?7“Will the Lord spurn us forever and never show His favor again?
Has His lovingkindness ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?8Is His loving devotion gone forever? Has His promise failed for all time?
Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah.9Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has His anger shut off His compassion?” Selah
Then I said, "It is my grief, That the right hand of the Most High has changed."10So I said, “I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
I shall remember the deeds of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.11I will remember the works of the LORD; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old.
I will meditate on all Your work And muse on Your deeds.12I will reflect on all You have done and ponder Your mighty deeds.
Your way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God?13Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God?
You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples.14You are the God who works wonders; You display Your strength among the peoples.
You have by Your power redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.15With power You redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were in anguish; The deeps also trembled.16The waters saw You, O God; the waters saw You and swirled; even the depths were shaken.
The clouds poured out water; The skies gave forth a sound; Your arrows flashed here and there.17The clouds poured down water; the skies resounded with thunder; Your arrows flashed back and forth.
The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.18Your thunder resounded in the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
Your way was in the sea And Your paths in the mighty waters, And Your footprints may not be known.19Your path led through the sea, Your way through the mighty waters, but Your footprints were not to be found.
You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.20You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
