| 1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. | 1Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD, praising him where the godly gather together. |
| 2Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. | 2May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King! |
| 3Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. | 3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres. |
| 4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. | 4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation. |
| 5Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds. | 5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches. |
| 6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, | 6Let high praises to God be heard in their throats, while they wield two-edged swords in their hands |
| 7To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples, | 7as they bring retribution to nations and punishment to peoples, |
| 8To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron, | 8binding their kings with chains, their officials with iron bands, |
| 9To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD! | 9and executing the judgment written against them. This is honor for all the ones he loves. Hallelujah! |
