Psalm 48
NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain.1Great is the LORD! For he is to be praised greatly, even in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King.2Beautifully situated, the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion towards the north, the city of the great King.
God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold.3Within her citadels God is known as a place of refuge.
For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.4Behold, when the kings assembled together, when they traveled together,
They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, they fled in alarm.5they looked and were awestruck; they became afraid and ran away.
Panic seized them there, Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth.6Trembling seized them there, pains like those of a woman in labor,
With the east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.7as when an east wind destroyed the ships of Tarshish.
As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish her forever. Selah.8Just as we have heard, so have we seen; in the city of the LORD of the heavenly armies— even in the city of our God— God will establish her forever. Interlude
We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple.9God, we have meditated on your gracious love in the midst of your Temple.
As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.10God, according to your name, so is your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments.11Mount Zion will be glad; the towns of Judah will rejoice because of your judgments.
Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers;12March around Zion; encircle her; count her towers.
Consider her ramparts; Go through her palaces, That you may tell it to the next generation.13Take note of her ramparts; investigate her citadels; that you may speak about them to the next generation.
For such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide us until death.14For this God is our God forever and ever. He will guide us until death.
