Psalm 48
NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain.1A song, a psalm by the Korahites. The LORD is great and certainly worthy of praise in the city of our God, his holy hill.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King.2It is lofty and pleasing to look at, a source of joy to the whole earth. Mount Zion resembles the peaks of Zaphon; it is the city of the great king.
God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold.3God is in its fortresses; he reveals himself as its defender.
For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.4For look, the kings assemble; they advance together.
They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, they fled in alarm.5As soon as they see, they are shocked; they are terrified, they quickly retreat.
Panic seized them there, Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth.6Look at them shake uncontrollably, like a woman writhing in childbirth.
With the east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.7With an east wind you shatter the large ships.
As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish her forever. Selah.8We heard about God's mighty deeds, now we have seen them, in the city of the LORD, the invincible Warrior, in the city of our God. God makes it permanently secure. (Selah)
We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple.9We reflect on your loyal love, O God, within your temple.
As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.10The praise you receive as far away as the ends of the earth is worthy of your reputation, O God. You execute justice!
Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments.11Mount Zion rejoices; the towns of Judah are happy, because of your acts of judgment.
Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers;12Walk around Zion! Encircle it! Count its towers!
Consider her ramparts; Go through her palaces, That you may tell it to the next generation.13Consider its defenses! Walk through its fortresses, so you can tell the next generation about it!
For such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide us until death.14For God, our God, is our defender forever! He guides us!
