For the music director; a song, a psalm. Shout out praise to God, all the earth! 1For the choir director. A Song. A Psalm. Shout joyfully to God, all the earth;
Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation! Give him the honor he deserves! 2Sing the glory of His name; Make His praise glorious.
Say to God: "How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power your enemies cower in fear before you. 3Say to God, "How awesome are Your works! Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You.
All the earth worships you and sings praises to you! They sing praises to your name!" (Selah) 4"All the earth will worship You, And will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name." Selah.
Come and witness God's exploits! His acts on behalf of people are awesome! 5Come and see the works of God, Who is awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men.
He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. Let us rejoice in him there! 6He turned the sea into dry land; They passed through the river on foot; There let us rejoice in Him!
He rules by his power forever; he watches the nations. Stubborn rebels should not exalt themselves. (Selah) 7He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
Praise our God, you nations! Loudly proclaim his praise! 8Bless our God, O peoples, And sound His praise abroad,
He preserves our lives and does not allow our feet to slip. 9Who keeps us in life And does not allow our feet to slip.
For you, O God, tested us; you purified us like refined silver. 10For You have tried us, O God; You have refined us as silver is refined.
You led us into a trap; you caused us to suffer. 11You brought us into the net; You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins.
You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place. 12You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water, Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.
I will enter your temple with burnt sacrifices; I will fulfill the vows I made to you, 13I shall come into Your house with burnt offerings; I shall pay You my vows,
which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. 14Which my lips uttered And my mouth spoke when I was in distress.
I will offer up to you fattened animals as burnt sacrifices, along with the smell of sacrificial rams. I will offer cattle and goats. (Selah) 15I shall offer to You burnt offerings of fat beasts, With the smoke of rams; I shall make an offering of bulls with male goats. Selah.
Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what he has done for me. 16Come and hear, all who fear God, And I will tell of what He has done for my soul.
I cried out to him for help and praised him with my tongue. 17I cried to Him with my mouth, And He was extolled with my tongue.
If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 18If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear;
However, God heard; he listened to my prayer. 19But certainly God has heard; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.
God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me! 20Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer Nor His lovingkindness from me.
