Psalm 33
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
You godly ones, shout for joy because of the LORD! It is appropriate for the morally upright to offer him praise. 1Let the godly sing for joy to the LORD; it is fitting for the pure to praise him.
Give thanks to the LORD with the harp! Sing to him to the accompaniment of a ten-stringed instrument! 2Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp.
Sing to him a new song! Play skillfully as you shout out your praises to him! 3Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.
For the LORD's decrees are just, and everything he does is fair. 4For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.
The LORD promotes equity and justice; the LORD's faithfulness extends throughout the earth. 5He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.
By the LORD's decree the heavens were made; by a mere word from his mouth all the stars in the sky were created. 6The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.
He piles up the water of the sea; he puts the oceans in storehouses. 7He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.
Let the whole earth fear the LORD! Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him! 8Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him.
For he spoke, and it came into existence, he issued the decree, and it stood firm. 9For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.
The LORD frustrates the decisions of the nations; he nullifies the plans of the peoples. 10The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes.
The LORD's decisions stand forever; his plans abide throughout the ages. 11But the LORD’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken.
How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen to be his special possession. 12What joy for the nation whose God is the LORD, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.
The LORD watches from heaven; he sees all people. 13The LORD looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.
From the place where he lives he looks carefully at all the earth's inhabitants. 14From his throne he observes all who live on the earth.
He is the one who forms every human heart, and takes note of all their actions. 15He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do.
No king is delivered by his vast army; a warrior is not saved by his great might. 16The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior.
A horse disappoints those who trust in it for victory; despite its great strength, it cannot deliver. 17Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory— for all its strength, it cannot save you.
Look, the LORD takes notice of his loyal followers, those who wait for him to demonstrate his faithfulness 18But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.
by saving their lives from death and sustaining them during times of famine. 19He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.
We wait for the LORD; he is our deliverer and shield. 20We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield.
For our hearts rejoice in him, for we trust in his holy name. 21In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
May we experience your faithfulness, O LORD, for we wait for you. 22Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone.
