A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day. It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High,1A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. It is good to praise the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,2to proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning and Your faithfulness at night
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.3with the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre.
For you make me glad by your deeds, LORD; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.4For You, O LORD, have made me glad by Your deeds; I sing for joy at the works of Your hands.
How great are your works, LORD, how profound your thoughts!5How great are Your works, O LORD, how deep are Your thoughts!
Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand,6A senseless man does not know, and a fool does not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.7that though the wicked sprout like grass, and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed.
But you, LORD, are forever exalted.8But You, O LORD, are exalted forever!
For surely your enemies, LORD, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.9For surely Your enemies, O LORD, surely Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me.10But You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; with fine oil I have been anointed.
My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.11My eyes see the downfall of my enemies; my ears hear the wailing of my wicked foes.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;12The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.13Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,14In old age they will still bear fruit; healthy and green they will remain,
proclaiming, "The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."15to proclaim, “The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and in Him there is no unrighteousness.”
