Psalm 6
NIV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
1For the director of music. With stringed instruments. According to sheminith. A psalm of David. LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.1For the choir director; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string lyre. A Psalm of David. O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
2Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint; heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.2Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are dismayed.
3My soul is in deep anguish. How long, LORD, how long?3And my soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O LORD-- how long?
4Turn, LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.4Return, O LORD, rescue my soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
5Among the dead no one proclaims your name. Who praises you from the grave?5For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks?
6I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.6I am weary with my sighing; Every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my tears.
7My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.7My eye has wasted away with grief; It has become old because of all my adversaries.
8Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.8Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.
9The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.9The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer.
10All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.10All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed.
