| 2"Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy. | 2"Speak to the whole congregation of the Israelites and tell them, 'You must be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy. |
| 3"'Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God. | 3Each of you must respect his mother and his father, and you must keep my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God. |
| 4"'Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God. | 4Do not turn to idols, and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal. I am the LORD your God. |

| 14"'Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD. | 14You must not curse a deaf person or put a stumbling block in front of a blind person. You must fear your God; I am the LORD. |
| 15"'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. | 15"'You must not deal unjustly in judgment: you must neither show partiality to the poor nor honor the rich. You must judge your fellow citizen fairly. |

| 18"'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD. | 18You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD. |
| 19"'Keep my decrees. "'Do not mate different kinds of animals. "'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. "'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material. | 19You must keep my statutes. You must not allow two different kinds of your animals to breed, you must not sow your field with two different kinds of seed, and you must not wear a garment made of two different kinds of fabric. |
| 20"'If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. | 20"'When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman, although she is a slave woman designated for another man and she has not yet been ransomed, or freedom has not been granted to her, there will be an obligation to pay compensation. They must not be put to death, because she was not free. |
| 21The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD. | 21He must bring his guilt offering to the LORD at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, a guilt offering ram, |
| 22With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven. | 22and the priest is to make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the LORD for his sin that he has committed, and he will be forgiven of his sin that he has committed. |
| 23"'When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. | 29"'Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness. | 29Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, so that the land does not practice prostitution and become full of lewdness. |
| 30"'Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD. | 30"'You must keep my Sabbaths and fear my sanctuary. I am the LORD. |

| 33"'When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. | 33When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you must not oppress him. |
| 34The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.
