Psalm 34
NIV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew Living Translation
Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.1I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.
I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.2I will boast only in the LORD; let all who are helpless take heart.
Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.3Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.4I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.5Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.6In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.7For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.8Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.9Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.10Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.11Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the LORD.
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,12Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous?
keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.13Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.14Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;15The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.
but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.16But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.17The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;19The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.
he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.20For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!
Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.21Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.
The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.22But the LORD will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
