| 1And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, | 1And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, |
| 2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, | 2in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. |
| 3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. | 3All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. | 4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, | 4But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, |
