| 3concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, | 3regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh, |
| 4and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. | 4and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. |

| 19because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. | 19For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. |

| 30backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, | 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. |
| 31undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; | 31They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless. |
| 32who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. | 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them. |
