New King James Version | English Standard Version |
A Song. A Psalm of David. O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. | 1My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! |
Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! |
I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. |
For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds. | 4For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth; | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me. | 6That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me! |
God has spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem And measure out the Valley of Succoth. | 7God has promised in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet for My head; Judah is My lawgiver. | 8Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. |
Moab is My washpot; Over Edom I will cast My shoe; Over Philistia I will triumph.” | 9Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” |
Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies? | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies. |
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. | 12Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! |
Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies. | 13With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. |
