A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. | 1A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. |
O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. | 2O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. |
O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. | 3O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. |
Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. | 4Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. |
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. | 5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. |
Now in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.” | 6And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. |
LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. | 7LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. |
I cried out to You, O LORD; And to the LORD I made supplication: | 8I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. |
“What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? | 9What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? |
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!” | 10Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. |
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, | 11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; |
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. | 12To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. |
