| 1Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. | 1Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. |

| 7But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” | 7Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.” |
| 8So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. | 18they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” | 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. | 19So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. | 19When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. |
| 20And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. | 20And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs. |
