Psalm 143
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness.1Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no one living is righteous.2Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made me dwell in darkness, Like those who have long been dead.3My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave.
Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart within me is distressed.4I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear.
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.5I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.
I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah6I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. Interlude
Answer me speedily, O LORD; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.7Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die.
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.8Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; In You I take shelter.9Rescue me from my enemies, LORD; I run to you to hide me.
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
Revive me, O LORD, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.11For the glory of your name, O LORD, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.
In Your mercy cut off my enemies, And destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.12In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.
