Psalm 142
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1A Contemplation of David. A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cry out to the LORD with my voice; With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.1I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy.
2I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble.2I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.
3When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Then You knew my path. In the way in which I walk They have secretly set a snare for me.3When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.
4Look on my right hand and see, For there is no one who acknowledges me; Refuge has failed me; No one cares for my soul.4I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.
5I cried out to You, O LORD: I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.5Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.
6Attend to my cry, For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than I.6Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.
7Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”7Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me.”
