Psalm 19
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.1The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.2Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.3There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.4Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,
It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.5which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.6Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.7The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.8the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair.9the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.10More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.11Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.12Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.13Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.14Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
