Psalm 30
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.1I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.3O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name.4Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.5For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”6As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
Your favor, O LORD, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.7By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.
I cried out to you, O LORD. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,8To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
“What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?9“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me. Help me, O LORD.”10Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!12that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
