Psalm 64
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.1Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.2Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers,
3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.3who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.4shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.
5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.5They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?”
6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.6They search out injustice, saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.” For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.
7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.7But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly.
8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.8They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads.
9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.9Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.10Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult!
